US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA on Monday following treatment for cancer since 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.

Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
