Recent Details Surface Concerning the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains
New information has come to light regarding the untimely passing of esteemed director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.
The Initial Report
A source indicates quoting a confidential source, a massage therapist arriving for an session first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the house. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.
When she went into the residence, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Proceedings
The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held without bail.
Correcting the Record
The anonymous source questioned several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.
Furthermore refuted widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction includes accounts of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
