The Red Bull team has confirmed a major reshuffle for the 2026 Grand Prix year, promoting French driver Isack Hadjar to its senior team and giving British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden F1 drive.

Lindblad, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, will be team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the junior outfit Racing Bulls.

This reshuffling results in Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1.

A Star in the Making

Lindblad has been tagged as a potential future star by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.

Discussing the team's junior academy, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "appears very talented", highlighting his "natural quickness".

The team prepared a programme since last year to prepare Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring appearances in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City.

Lindblad stated it was a "huge honour", commenting: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm prepared to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started."

He has won a couple of victories in F2 so far this season and is sixth in the standings ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he crashed on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has emerged as one of the most impressive rookies this season.

He included an outstanding podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies in tenth place in the drivers' standings.

A senior team figure commented: "Hadjar has shown impressive growth and demonstrated to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel next to Max."

Hadjar described it "an awesome move" and said he felt "up for the challenge".

Lawson Retains His Seat

To partner Lindblad at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have opted for Lawson over Tsunoda.

Lawson began the season with the main team but was moved back after just two races. However, he has found his form at Racing Bulls with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he deserves another season.

Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His best result is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's points total.

The driver market moves confirm that there is also no spot on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
