The Streaming Giant Selects Ideal Star for Bentham in One Piece Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the real showdown isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

The platform declared Tuesday that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bon Clay. The role has the ability to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a interpretation of that character reinterpreted as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action series, unlike the initial comic and anime.

This performer is joined by multiple new cast members set to bring the organization to reality, featuring chief the main antagonist, brought to life by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.

Though the role is a major member of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest further changes to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is due to premiere for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
